How to Add an Email Signature in Yahoo Mail

Yahoo Mail lets you add an email signature through its settings, but there's an easy-to-miss step: the signature toggle must be turned ON before your signature will appear. Yahoo Mail supports basic HTML including images and links. Here's how to set it up.

Before you start

You'll need a signature to paste. Already have one? Skip to step 1.

Step-by-step setup

1
Open Yahoo Mail in your browser. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner.
2
In the settings dropdown, click "More Settings". You'll be taken to the full Yahoo Mail settings page.
3
In the left sidebar of Settings, click "Writing email".
4
Find the 'Signature' section. You'll see a toggle switch — make sure it's turned ON (blue/highlighted). Without this, your signature won't appear even if you type one.

Pro tip: This toggle is the most commonly missed step. If your signature isn't showing, come back and check this first.

5
In DropSig, click "Copy Signature" to copy your formatted signature.
6
Click in the signature text area below the toggle and paste (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V). Your signature will appear in the editor.

Pro tip: Yahoo Mail's editor may strip some advanced CSS. Stick to simple layouts and web-safe fonts for best results.

7
Click "Save" at the bottom of the Writing email settings. Compose a new email to test your signature.

Common issues

Signature not showing in emails

The most common cause is that the signature toggle is OFF. Go to Settings → More Settings → Writing email and make sure the Signature toggle is enabled (blue).

Formatting looks wrong in Yahoo Mail

Yahoo Mail strips some CSS properties. Avoid custom fonts, background colors, and complex layouts. Simple table-based signatures with web-safe fonts work best.

Images not displaying

Make sure images are hosted at a public HTTPS URL. Yahoo Mail may block HTTP images. DropSig-hosted images use HTTPS and should display correctly.
